Dr. George received her Bachelor’s Degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. She was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia with the top honor of Summa Cum Laude. Following dental school, Dr. George completed a general practice residency program at York Hospital in Pennsylvania.
Her commitment to lifelong learning has led her to pursue a range of postgraduate education courses, to expand and strengthen her skill set and stay current on new technologies and treatments. Among her continuing education courses, Dr. George has studied restoration of dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, and restorative dentistry.
She’s an active member of the Interdisciplinary Study Club of Tampa, which brings together general dentists and oral healthcare specialists. She has also completed courses hosted by Spear Study Club, whose curriculum is internationally recognized for advanced dental techniques.
A native of Hermitage, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh, Dr. George and her husband, Bryan, have called Tampa their home for over 10 years. They recently welcomed their second child, Kora, in August 2024, and have a four year old son named Kylan. Much of Dr. George’s free time is spent with her family and traveling. She also enjoys skiing, cycling, and working out.
With over a decade of experience practicing dentistry in the Bradenton area, Dr. Dana Lucy is excited to bring her expertise to Westshore Family Dentistry in Tampa. Dr. Lucy’s professional philosophy is deeply rooted in her belief of treating everyone with kindness and doing good for others with humility.
She is committed to providing quality dental care in a welcoming, comfortable environment. Her passion for dentistry is demonstrated by the emphasis she places on patient education, ensuring each patient feels empowered to make the decisions that are best for their long-term dental health.
Dr. Lucy was raised in the suburbs of Chicago and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern University followed by a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Science from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.
She then earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University, College of Dental Medicine-Arizona, where she graduated with honors, having been inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society. After having a taste of the endless warm weather in Arizona, Dr. Lucy decided to relocate and make Florida her home.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Lucy enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Leon, and their goldendoodle, Albie. Together, they enjoy boating, traveling, and cheering for the Tampa Bay Lightning. She is an avid reader and loves spending her free time at the beach.
